Fish School & Whale VFX

This personal project taught me a lot about procedural animation, as well as optimizing a scene for file chacing and rendering. A simple yet effective shot elevated thanks to the sound effects of my friend Nicholas Frickleton!

Simulated in Houdini, transferred and rendered in Maya with Redshift and then comped in Nuke.

Fish School & Whale VFX

Fish school animation: first POP sim, then Vellum lines appended then Point Deform on fish GEO.

Optimizing file caches based on camera movement and visibility. This helped reduce scene translation times and renders!

WIP progress of the rendering process, lighting/shading correctly, make it so that comp has the most to work with.
